Decorative patterns that look like stone, slate or brick for patios, walkways and pool decks.
Stained concrete turns a plain gray slab into a durable, easy-to-clean finished floor with rich, variegated color that never peels the way paint does.
Concrete stain soaks into the surface instead of sitting on top of it. Acid stains react with the lime in the cement and produce mottled browns, ambers and greens that look like natural stone. Water-based stains give you a wider, more predictable palette including grays, blacks and modern neutrals. Both are locked in with a clear sealer or a polished, densified finish.
We stain new slabs we pour and existing slabs in living rooms, garages, shops, barns, offices and restaurants across Tulare, Visalia and Hanford. On existing floors we grind off old mastic, carpet glue and paint, repair cracks and spalls, then test a sample area so you can see the true color on your concrete before we commit to the whole floor.
For homes we usually recommend a stained floor with a satin or high-gloss sealer. For shops and commercial floors that see forklifts or heavy foot traffic, a ground and densified floor with a polished finish lasts longer and needs no wax. Either way, the floor stays cool in summer and works well with radiant heat in winter.
Typical cost: Stained and sealed floors typically run $4 to $8 per square foot; ground and polished floors run $5 to $10 per square foot depending on prep.

A clear sealer or densifier and polish protects the color and gives the sheen you chose.
Acid stain is the classic choice when you want a one-of-a-kind, marbled floor; every slab reacts a little differently, which is the point. Water-based stain is better when you need to match a specific color or a brand palette. Polished concrete skips heavy color and relies on grinding and densifiers for a glassy, low-maintenance shine that suits garages, showrooms and warehouses. We walk the slab with you and recommend the system that fits how the room is used.
Day to day, a stained floor only needs dust mopping and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner. Sealed residential floors benefit from a maintenance coat every few years in high-traffic paths. Polished floors only need cleaning; the shine actually improves with traffic. We stay available for touch-ups and resealing long after the job is done.

“Our retail floor went from stained gray slab to a glossy, even finish with a clear sealer. They worked nights so we only closed one day. Customers ask about it constantly.”
“Our old driveway had a two-inch lip from tree roots. They tore it out, regraded, added rebar and widened it for our truck. Written quote matched the final invoice to the dollar.”
Yes. Most existing slabs can be stained once coatings, glue and sealers are ground off. We always do a test patch first because old concrete takes color differently than new concrete.
A typical garage or living room takes two to four days: prep and grinding, stain and cleanup, then sealing. You can walk on it within 24 hours of the final coat.
Stain does not hide cracks, but we fill and color-match repairs so they blend in. Many owners like the natural, stone-like character the cracks give.
Yes. A stained floor with a high-performance sealer, or a polished densified floor, resists hot-tire pickup and oil far better than bare concrete or garage floor paint.
