Concrete Driveways in Tulare, CA

Wide new concrete driveway at a modern home

Concrete Driveway Services by Valley Ridge Concrete

Your driveway carries thousands of pounds every day. We build driveways with the base, thickness and steel to handle trucks, trailers and RVs without cracking apart.

We install new driveways for custom homes, replace cracked and sunken driveways, widen single-car driveways to fit two vehicles, add RV pads and side-yard parking, and pour new aprons and approaches. Most driveway replacements are completed in two to three days: demolition, grading and forming, then the pour.

A residential driveway we build is at least 4 inches thick, and 5 to 6 inches where you park trucks, trailers or an RV, with #3 or #4 rebar on chairs and a compacted aggregate base. Control joints are saw-cut within hours of the pour at spacings no more than about 10 feet, which keeps random cracking to a minimum.

Driveway approaches that cross the sidewalk and curb are in the public right-of-way. In the City of Tulare, Visalia and most of Tulare County that means an encroachment permit and city-standard details. We handle the permit and the inspection as part of the job.

Pour, Finish & Cure

Concrete is poured, broom finished, saw-cut and cured; you can drive on it in about 7 days.

Driveway Finishes, Borders and Widening

The standard is a medium broom finish, which gives good traction and hides tire marks. For more curb appeal, we offer stamped or colored borders, exposed aggregate, and a smooth trowel band along the edges. Widening an existing driveway is one of our most common jobs: we dowel the new section to the old slab so both stay level, and match the finish as closely as concrete allows.

RV Pads and Heavy-Duty Parking

RV pads, boat parking and side-yard pads for work trucks need more than a patio-grade slab. We pour them 5 to 6 inches thick on a deeper base, with heavier rebar, and slope them to drain away from the house and fence. If your RV gate needs a new approach or a wider curb cut, we handle that permit too.

Driveway replacement · Tulare, CA

“Our old driveway had a two-inch lip from tree roots. They tore it out, regraded, added rebar and widened it for our truck. Written quote matched the final invoice to the dollar.”

Backyard patio by Valley Ridge Concrete in Visalia

Concrete Driveway FAQ

Most driveways we install cost $9 to $14 per square foot. A typical two-car driveway of about 600 square feet runs roughly $5,500 to $8,400, plus removal if there is an old driveway.

We pour residential driveways at least 4 inches thick and 5 to 6 inches thick wherever trucks, trailers or RVs will park, always with rebar and a compacted base.

Foot traffic is fine after 24 hours. Wait about seven days for cars and light trucks, and longer for RVs and heavy equipment.

The driveway on your lot usually does not, but the approach, curb cut and sidewalk in the public right-of-way require a city or county encroachment permit. We take care of it.

We also install stamped concrete, stained concrete, concrete foundation, patio concrete, concrete walkway throughout Tulare, Visalia, Hanford, Porterville, Lindsay, Exeter and the rest of Tulare County.
